CLOSING THE BONES

Closing the Bones is an ancient way of tending to the significent thresholds that women pass through along the journey of life.

Traditionally it used for post-partum, to help close the physical and energetic body after the immense opening up mind, body and soul of childbirth.

However, it is also a very powerful way to honour the crossing of any threshold that a woman may go through in her life, this could include:

  • Abortion

  • Miscarriage

  • Still birth

  • Menarche

  • Menopause

  • Ending the breastfeeding journey

  • A significent life shift such as an ending of a relationship.

  • Crossing over into a new decade of life.

Across the world, many cultures are still practising this way of supporting womens body's to come back into balance.

I learnt from Japjeet Kaur, who is teaching this work passed on by Ecuadorian midwife and ethnobotanist Rocio Alarcon.

An integral part of this work is the 'Rebozos', which is the name for scarves in Mexico. All 8 scarves that I use, have been sourced from a small cooperative of weavers in Mexico who are keeping this ancient way of weaving alive.

It is an honour to offer this work to women, and I am deeply grateful for traditional midwives such as Rocio Alarcon for bringing this work to the UK, and helping us to remember ways of supporting each other that we have long lost.

Cost of a Session

Each session lasts about 2 hours. I shall come to your house half an hour before to lay down the scarves and set up the space.

As I am still integrating the skills that I have learnt, I am offering the next few sessions at £80 for 2 hours.

If this is too much for you, I can also come and offer a 1hr session for £60. This would just include the hip rocking and wrapping and womb massage.
